Hunter College Urban Center for Assessment, Research, and Evaluation (UCARE)

UCARE strives to achieve the following goals:

• To advance multi- and inter-disciplinary social and psychological research and theory in urban settings;
• To provide professional development for urban school personnel in the collection, analysis, interpretation and use of assessment data for school improvement;
• To provide professional development for urban school personnel in the identification, selection, and implementation of appropriate instructional technology;
• To conduct school-based program evaluations and assist program personnel in the training and development of program evaluation activities;
• To disseminate knowledge on urban public schools through Center publications, symposia, workshops, and conferences.
