Responsive Research Network Inaugural Research Forum

The National Science Foundation-funded project, The Mathematics and Science Partnership in New York City (MSPinNYC), has created the “Network for Responsive Research in Mathematics and Science Education.” The Network will involve interested CUNY faculty in mathematics, the sciences, mathematics and science education, and pertinent social sciences. We invite you to participate in this exciting new venture and to attend the Inaugural Research Forum. It will be held at Hunter College (Lang Recital Hall) on Friday, September 28, 2007 from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with a reception to follow. This event is invitation only.

The day’s events include greetings from Chancellor Matthew Goldstein, Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Selma Botman and Hunter President, Jennifer Raab. Dr. Cora Marrett, Assistant Director for the National Science Foundation’s Directorate for Education and Human Resources will provide the keynote address. The program will also include: (1) brief research presentations by CUNY faculty, (2) an overview of materials available for mathematics and science education research, (3) a discussion of the kinds of support that the MSPinNYC will make available to researchers, and (4) application procedures for securing support.
